Computational modelling for UK national research programme into magnetic skyrmions (2021)
Please see
this summary from 2019
as a general introduction of the research challenge and the research programme.
Here is some additional information:
- The end of the project
is now 19 July 2023, and the advertised position will
also end on that day. The contract length is thus of the order of 16 months
(depending on start date).
- To make this efficient, we need good communication skills from the successful
applicant, and ability and willingness to integrate into an existing and
distributed team.
- Likely topics of work include (i) collaborative maintenance and further
developement of the Ubermag software package and associated data analysis
tools. And (ii) collaborative application of those tools to support ongoing
theoretical and experimental on magnetism and magnetic skyrmions within the
project, working towards publication of physics results.
- Physicists with topical knowledge and magnetism and skyrmions and a strong
interest in computational science are similarly encouraged to apply as
are experienced research software engineers who are willing to engage with
computational magnetism at the nanoscale.
- Please do not hesitate to get in touch before the application deadline if you
have further questions regarding the project and its implementation.
