Linux¶

ATI drivers causes crash¶

Debian etch, updated 16 Feb 2007, with graphics adapter “ATI Technologies Inc RV370 5B60 [Radeon X300 (PCIE)]” shows faulty trianglecolours in open gl graphics and crashes so that the complete machine freezes (not only X, there is no ping, no sysrequest possible any more).

This has been reported here: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/16873

This problem disappears if I remove ‘Load “dri”’ from /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
